About Me
My name is Ryan Miller, and I am a psychoanalytic therapist in private practice. My therapeutic approach is shaped by psychoanalytic principles, including attachment theory, object relations, and relational theories, as well as insights from feminist, queer, and critical theories.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University and a Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. My passion for psychoanalytic therapy has continued to grow since my time as a student. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Washington State (LW61580671).
Throughout my career, I’ve gained valuable experience in various therapeutic settings, including a vocational farm, residential day programs, therapeutic schools, jail, and community mental health organizations. These experiences have enriched my understanding and allowed me to grow alongside individuals from diverse backgrounds.
As a therapist, I believe in the importance of having a deep understanding of the therapeutic landscape we navigate together. That’s why I prioritize my own growth through ongoing psychotherapy. Additionally, I pursue postgraduate education through classes at multiple psychoanalytic organizations in Seattle and participate in ongoing consultation groups with fellow therapists.
